Connie Byrne-Olson

After one year of unfocused effort at SDSU, I took a few years off, got married, moved to the Phoenix area and got a BS in Criminal Justice at ASU.

The next decade involved a move back to SD, two children and an MS in Counseling. My 40 year career was about half in the battered woman’s/sexual assault movement and shelter work, and was as much a calling as a job. The last half was at Sanford USD Medical Center and another position that was not just a job, serving as a counselor on the Palliative Medical team.

Still figuring out retirement; staying active with physical pursuits, enjoying 50+ years with John, and our children and grandchildren, and of course, always planning the next few travel adventures.
