Hi everyone! After high school, I graduated from College of St. Mary in Omaha, Nebraska with a degree in nursing and married my high school beau Paul Strohfus who graduated from Creighton with a law degree. We had two sons, Matt and Zac who are both married with two children each. Matt and Heather live in Reno and have two sons Blake and Chase. Zac and Shelley live in Phoenix with two little girls, Maggie and Mallory.
After being married for 25 years, Paul and I parted ways but remain good friends. I now am married to Chris Steege of whom I have been with for several years. Between us we have 5 children, 5 grandchildren and several granddogs located around the southern US. His daughter Megann has a little girl Maverick and lives in Gulf Shores, Alabama. We love to golf and travel. Luckily our children and grandchildren live in the south, so we are able to leave Boise, Idaho in the winter. We love Idaho though as this has been our home for 19 years.
Professionally I worked as a nurse in NICU, pediatrics, primary care, quality programs, and administration for 30 years. The next 15 years was spent teaching and managing nursing programs at Boise State University in Idaho, of which I retired as Assoc Professor Emeritus. I have a master’s in healthcare management, a post-master’s in nursing and healthcare education, and finally a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Rush University, Chicago. My research includes ‘effective intramuscular injection delivery and efficacy through evidence-based practice and education’. I have authored several peer reviewed articles on immunization practice/education and intramuscular injection efficacy. I still teach part-time in the doctoral program.
I am looking forward to seeing many of you at our reunion in September 9-10, 2022. Stay healthy everyone! Exercise, read, play, be social, and dance like you’ve never danced before!
