Linda Lovrien Simmons

Graduated from College of St. Benedict in 1975 where I had met James Flynn at St. John's. We married in 1975, lived in Minneapolis, and then moved to Connecticut. However, Jim passed away in 1978 from a rare form of Leukemia.

I stayed in Connecticut and continued to move up in Operations Management and Information Technology positions throughout my career (Waldenbooks, James River Corp, Oxford Health/United Healthcare, and Aetna). Picked up a Masters in Education in order to finish something I had started earlier in my life. Had a fantastic time with Middle School aged students for about a year but realized that continuing in IT was where I wanted and needed to be.

Along the way I met my wonderful 2nd husband Jerry Simmons (It's a good story... ask me about it!). We have two sons (Dan and Phil) and I have been extremely fortunate to see them grow up to be thoughtful and caring men. They have both married and we now have two fantastic ladies (Hanna and Chloe) in the family plus a grand cat and a new grand puppy!

We moved from Connecticut to Oregon in 2015 when Jerry decided to retire. I continued to work remotely to Aetna on the East Coast as an Enterprise Business Architect until retiring in 2017. We had a fun two years of retirement travel before the pandemic put our plans on hold. It is looking like we now may be able to pick up where we left off.
