Wow, I feel like I'm writing my own obituary.....oh well, here goes. I left SFSD after graduation and have only been back a few times to visit family. I went to undergrad (accounting degree) and law school at Creighton, and then took my first-ever airplane trip, heading to the Big Apple to spend a year at NYU studying tax law. Then off to Portland OR to spend way too many years working for international accounting firms before starting my own tax and financial planning firm, cleverly named Jansa Consulting LLC. I loved being my own boss, but ended up working too much, so I decided to sell my practice and start a phased retirement when I turned 60. Now I'm a few years into full retirement and wish I'd done it sooner.
I married Fran Henry, who I met in Omaha when I was 19, and we have managed to stay married for 40 years. Like most everyone else, my children (3) are perfect, and my growing group of grandchildren (4) are budding geniuses who will save the world someday. Fran and I love to travel, play bridge, hike, bike, play pickleball, and hang out with family and friends at our lake house at Priest Lake, Idaho. Looking forward to seeing old friends (pun intended!) at the reunion.
