Artist's note
Through my art practice, I explore the unmet needs of my inner child, particularly focusing on the importance of family. Having experienced early-life challenges such as domestic violence, parental separation, and remarriage, I understand the profound impact these events had on my emotional well-being. To address the lingering pain and longing within, I channel my emotions into my artwork, seeking to express and heal my inner child. Creating a family photograph through painting has been a poignant way to nurture my inner child's yearning for familial connection. As the youngest sibling, I envision myself embraced by my parents, filling the void left by absence and loss. While the image may be a mere representation, the act of creating it brings solace and a sense of wholeness to my inner world.
