Artist's note
I am drawing my references from the visual setting that's surrounds me. The visible richness of the world around me and the cracks and corners in my surroundings. I make drawings of seepage in my walls, cracks in the stairwell, the left-over prints of a bark of tree that used to exist. I think about the alchemy of time, decay and growth. I bring them into the work by using the very method of paint seeping through layers on top of one another. Residual reflections inspire me in the studio to create work that is a site responsive process to my life’s practice and evolvement.
