Untitled-2224 | Woodblock print, sumi ink and gouache on washi paper | 10.5 x 8.25 inches
Artist's note
I tried to recreate the hut and sunset drawings of my childhood. Instead of sunset, a red incomplete square is placed at the bottom that also represents the traditional Japanese 'hanko' seals used by artists. This woodblock (mokuhanga) print was made from carving one block and using sumi ink and gouache on washi paper.
