Our Last Day of First Grade!
Oh my! I am so happy for my first year at Branches and also so sad to say good-bye. A few of you won't be returning to Branches, and so it was a final good-bye. :(
Today, we enjoyed a kinder graduation ceremony and the 8th grade promotion.
We enjoyed playing in the classroom a lot (because we've only played in there previously on rainy days) and Mrs. Rivera had some more of her activities and games for us to enjoy. I also read to them another Max Lucado book, If I only Had a Green Nose, which taught a great lesson about how God made us special, and we don't need to try to fit in with the crowd.
We also split into two teams and had a US History quiz. Way to go Team Hornets! It was a tie for most of the time, which means the whole class equally remembered much of what we learned throughout the year. Great job Zain for the details you recalled!
The day ended with some sad good-byes and a fun family potluck/end of the year fiesta.
Thank you to my Tuesday families for all your help in volunteering in the classroom, on campus, and more. I've loved getting to know you and watching how you love your children. My students brought me so much joy and gave me insight into how wonderful homeschooling can be. Your sacrifice is worth it. I'm glad you chose Branches for their first grade year.
Have a blessed summer vacation!
