Tuesday, we enjoyed learning about Matter again, specifically Gases! Did you know that when you blow into a baggie, you can trap the carbon dioxide that you blow out? That was fun to do. We also watched as we poured vinegar onto baking soda and we watched the gases form and bubble up! We learned by doing that experiment, that it creates a layer of gas so the bubbles we blew floated on top of it! We guessed which size puddle would dry up more quickly and so learned about evaporation. Science can be pretty cool...
In US History, we learned more about the first president and his home, Mount Vernon. Mrs. Rivera showed us a picture of when she went to DC with her son on his 8th grade field trip and she saw the White House, too! Did you know the White House has 132 rooms and 35 bathrooms?! We had fun making a craft of George Washington, too.
In IEW, we did some oral storytelling with a story Mrs. Rivera read to us before. When you can identify the main character, the problem, and the resolution, you can retell a story in a snap! We drew a picture about it and started writing down a short summary.
We know it's difficult to be patient sometimes, but Jesus gave us the gifts of His Holy Spirit, so we know to count on these gifts to help us in the future.
