Oh what fun it is to....make Christmas fun!
We had such a great day! It was filled with learning all about how other countries have different traditions when they celebrate Christmas: Mexico has Las Posadas: where people dress up like Mary and Joseph and they go looking for a place to stay and the final home lets them in and they have a party. Sweden celebrates St. Lucia day with the wearing of a wreath of candles on the head of the oldest girl in the home and she delivers goodies to family members. Then there's the true story of Saint Nicholas, where he would leave goodies in shoes and stockings for the poor. Guess what? He left some goodies in our shoe when we left it outside!
We said a prayer of thanksgiving to Jesus for how fortunate we are to have everything we need and to be together with our families to celebrate His birthday.
The kids looked so cute dressed in their PJs today. We made gifts for our moms and dads, ornaments for our tree, enjoyed yummy goodies provided by our wonderful parents (thank you all!), and listened to Christmas music. Then it was off to the spirit rally where Emma won a prize! We also had a chance to enjoy the beautiful performance of "A Christmas Carol". The older kids did such a beautiful job... such hard work went into this beautiful play. Some of the students shared with me that they had never seen a play onstage before. How wonderful to experience their first time! It was great to see some of you at the performance Friday night.
My wish is for you all to experience the joy of the birth of our Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Have a wonderful Christmas break, enjoying your loved ones and making memories with your littles. It goes so fast.
Don't forget to sing Happy Birthday to Jesus on Christmas morning!
