Spirit Week!
We had such fun showing our school spirit with Twin Day! The day began with our chapel service and a special message from Pastor John from Foothill Vineyard Church. The we had our Spirit Rally, where we enjoyed seeing so many others who dressed for the theme "Twin Day".
In Science we are continuing with our Chemistry unit. where we looked at Mixing Liquids. We had a demonstration where Zelie, who was the "Red" in the mixture, bumped into all the water molecules and turned them "red". Then we looked at how food coloring mixed with milk, but it wasn't as quick of a reaction as when we added soap to the mixture. The soap quickly went after the fat molecules in the milk and made it spread so much more quickly. It was fun to watch! We added chocolate syrup to milk and enjoyed some chocolate milk, too.
In History, we reviewed how the Union soldiers destroyed to many people's homes during the Civil War. They came back to homes destroyed and some people had "Starvation Parties", knowing it was their last meal because all their food was gone. We made our own cups out of wax paper like some in the South did and drank our last bit of water. We also learned how Alaska (it's so far away!) was purchased from Russia and was added to the US.
In IEW, we focused on nouns and our bible verse: "For this is the love of God, that we keep His commands" 1 John 5:3, led us to a discussion about what those laws are and how to be good and faithful servants.
