What a great day today was! Full of so many experiences.
Many students wore costumes in the spirit of the season of Halloween.
Thank you to those who came to enjoy the chapel service. Always love to start the day praising our Lord!
Science: We finished up their unit on Matter by introducing the class to the fourth, mostly unknown, group of Matter called Plasma. We also realized that some matter is comprised of solids and liquids, like an orange, when you squeeze the juice out. You also can't separate the solids from a liquid after you've combined them, like when salt is added to a liquid...it dissolves! We enjoyed separating the three main groups of Matter in a cut and paste activity.
In US History, we enjoyed putting on our thinking caps to ty and understand what Lewis and Clark and Sacajawea experienced when they traveled over 7000 miles to explore and map the United States. Thank goodness they had a Native American with them to help with relations with indigenous tribes. We went on an exploration of our own and drew the plants and "animals" we saw on our trip through the wilderness (part of the campus). We couldn't believe the group had to go through so many trials as a favor to the president. We were happy to know Lewis and Clark were honored in our history books for the heroic efforts.
First Grade always loves a good Spirit Rally! Watching Mr. Sparks play the games and run in his blow-up dinosaur costume was the hit of the rally!
In IEW, we had a little time to review writing the letters b, r, e on our white boards.
Please check your child's backpack for any Halloween goodies sent home. Students received Boo-Grams from family, friends, and me! I also sent home an extra little goody if they happen to go trick-or-treating.
Until next, Tuesday!
