Queen of the ancients, mother of time, and creatrix of the universe, Nyx is a force to be respected and feared. She is the eldest of all beings in the universe, being the creator of time and the universe. She is the first being worshiped and respected by life on Maeovis, and her name lives on in her many powerful incarnations.
Nyx is the embodiment of the universal order. Everything has a place in her world. In her avatar, she represents the timeless order of night and day: Her hair is black as the void, her skin ashen and pale with age. Her face is never seen by mortals, covered with a veil or a heavenly cloud. Birds follow her wherever she goes, bringing her news. The eagle is her eye and the corvid her tongue, bringing her messages across the world. Her two symbols are a pendulum and a globe. The pendulum to symbolize time, and the globe to symbolize her creation.
She is known by many epithets, and in varied religions represents universal order and creation. She is Nyx Anaia, the personification of time; Nyx Telos, impartial judge of death; Nyx Hilea, goddess of life. In other religions, she is called Keket, Matai, Avon, Topec, Sevi and Heli, and many other names.
Among mages, she is the matron of the Pyrsi mages, gifting them powers of control and world-shaping.
