Nestled in the foothills of the Dragonback mountains lies the quiet village of Upper Dragonwatch, sister city to the well known Lower Dragonwatch. The people living there are friendly, and always willing to lend travelers a hand.
Almost all of the population is Iksandi elven, with a few Sianic elves. Non-elven races are rare, and are regarded with curiosity and suspicion.
Upper Dragonwatch is a mining settlement, but also exports pine wood. The mountains near the village are full of iron. The people of the city rely on hunting for their main source of food, and imports are few and far between.
The town was originally built as an outpost, and a series of signals connect it to other cities. The first settlers were monster hunters and soldiers, stationed to keep the towns below safe from attacks. After the dragons were driven away, the village was nearly abandoned, until a mining guild found the mountain full of iron. The village grew after that, and now has around 600 residents.
On dark and clear nights, when the wind rushes down the mountain, some say that they can see the lights of the ghostly watch, and others have heard their calls.
