Magefolk, called Devons in Dravic Tanun, are a diverse and widespread group found almost everywhere that will accept them. The largest groups are in Marisen, which is often called the home of the magefolk, Nitheme, Elys, and Siniva.
Magefolk are on average 5'10" tall, and are an average of 150 lbs. Their skin can be anywhere from dark to pale, but they often have lighter or tan complexions. Their eye color is quite varied, but the most common colors are green, grey, and brown. Most magefolk have long pointed ears that can move similar to cat ears, using a complex series of small muscles. Magefolk typically live ~90 years, and reach adulthood by the age of 20. A unique trait of magefolk is their magic. Magefolk manifest magic at around age 5, and the type of magic is genetically passed down from parent to child.
There are six main magic types, only four of which can be found regularly in Kessix due to the magefolk wars. The largest group are the Kikiro magefolk, whose magic manifests in enhancements and bodily modifications such as wings and shapeshifting. The smallest group, and also the most varied, are the Pyrsi magefolk, whose magic contains things like illusion casting and weapon manifestation. Amodoi mages, also called Stormcallers, have abilities relating to weather and water, such as windcalling and enhanced swimming. Ignidus magefolk have magic relating to fire and heat. The last two, Rusiar and Telan, which deal with spiritual and wind-related and stone and earth magics respectively, are found mainly in Nitheme, but rarely occur in Marisen as well.
