Lady of flames, lord of passion, and master of war, Ignis represents the wildest instincts and the destructive and warming force of fire.
Ignis is the embodiment of fire. Her avatar takes a usually female form, and she most often appears as a red-haired sukhet with embers in place of her eyes. She is cloaked in flames and smoke, and leaves a burning trail wherever she walks. It is unwise to get too close to her, as she radiates heat and destruction. She is in both the burning wildfire and the smoldering hearth, the warmth and fear that fire brings. Her symbols are the disc of the sun, representing life-giving warmth, and a perching dragon, representing fire's power and destruction.
Ignis is one of the goddesses who is most feared and reviled, but she is a goddess of many faces. As Ignis Isolo, she is the first child of the world, a herald of things to come. As Ignis Meri, she is the goddess of war and destruction, ravaging forests and turning fields into deserts. As Ignis Apali, she is the goddess of the hearth and home and a loyal protector.
Among the mages, she is the matron of the Ignidus mages, however unwilling she was to give her powers. She is the source of their fire control.
