Story: Daughter of two of the most renowned spell casters - Minyae Beaurin and Edwin Odesseiron - Aliyah Beaurin Odesseiron (or as some call her, "Ali") was an accident. As Minyae and Edwin contemplated becoming liches so that their legacy could live on forever, Minyae accidentally became pregnant with Edwin's child. During her pregnancy, Edwin and Minyae were completely baffled and were unsure whether they should keep the child, seeing as how it would hinder their objectives. But when Aliyah was born, they fell in love with her and couldn't bring it upon themselves to give up their child. They both took it upon themselves to teach their daughter everything they knew and Minyae made extra sure that Aliyah was well-equipped to deal with any man that would pursue her...after they were approved by Edwin, of course.

Aliyah never really wanted the fame that her parents wanted for her. She didn't want to be known as the daughter of Minyae and Edwin. She wanted to create a name for herself, but in order for her to do that she had to keep a low profile. However, her temptation for thrills got the best of her, and so she would sneak away from her parents at night and play the piano in local taverns. Her parents, especially Minyae, emphasized the importance of first impressions and keeping her body clear of any disfigurements. But of course, Aliyah always wanted what she couldn't have, and so one night, she received all the tattoos she could have ever wanted, including one small tattoo of the crescent moon with a trail of stars on her left temple. Edwin had great expectations that Aliyah would become a great mage that could rival his power and so he took special interest in tutoring Aliyah the arcane arts. While Aliyah exceeded her parents' expectations in terms of her studies, her true passion lay with music. She soon found herself putting more time and dedication to playing the piano and became so entranced by it that she pursued the path of a bard. Her parents did not approve entirely, but knowing themselves and knowing their stubbornness and pride and passed onto their daughter, they let Aliyah be. Soon after her pursuit of music and much to the excitement of Minyae, Aliyah started showing interest and skill with daggers and so Minyae trained her to efficiently use them.

Despite living her life on the "down-low", Aliyah always found herself interacting with the world around her, but never she did reveal her true identity. She was so invisible at times that when many discussed Minyae Beaurin and Edwin Odesseiron, people questioned whether or not the two even had a child. Her parents had enemies so this rumor helped them protect their daughter, and when asked if Aliyah truly did exist, they neither acknowledged her existence nor did they deny it. Of course, only their closest confidants knew the truth and they knew full well that they loved their daughter dearly.

  • All Aliyah ever wanted was to be free from her parents' watchful eyes. One night, while sneaking to one of her favorite taverns, she was caught in a powerful vortex that transported her back into time, before the Bhaalspawn saga, but during the historical events in Icewind Dale. At first, Aliyah was overjoyed to be free from her parents, but soon began to realize that this is not where she belonged. One fateful day, she happened upon a small town known as Easthaven and with nothing else to do, she joined Hrothgar's expedition. She never expected to find someone she could trust, let alone care for, but she fell deeply in love with the one type of person she told herself to never be with...and with good reason too.
  • Lumaris was everything Aliyah could have ever asked for physically, but in the beginning, he was just a play thing - he was fun. It wasn't until much later that she realized she had found a friend...and a lover. Fun didn't exist without Lumaris, and Aliyah couldn't exist without him. There was nothing in the world she wouldn't give or do for him. Being around him, inspired a new perspective on life for her. No longer would she look at the world in a selfish way, she looked at the world in a more caring and kinder outlook. Her beloved opened her eyes to see the beauty in all things, no matter who or what it was.
  • It took Aliyah by surprise when she found out she was carrying Lumaris' child - twins actually. It was neither the time or place for her to be in that condition and she contemplated terminating her pregnancy for fear of what would happen to herself and of her lover's possible disapproval, or even rejection. She was distraught and battled internally with herself, but finally came to the conclusion that Lumaris should know of her condition and perhaps he would know what to do. However, when she told Lumaris of the children she was carrying, her beloved was overjoyed at the thought of their family. This greatly calmed Aliyah and she learned to accept her pregnancy, because accidents can be a good thing - she was an accident anyway. So how bad could it actually be?
  • After returning to the present time, she married the love of her life and had their twins shortly after. The two lived passionately and carefree, and it is unsure how many kids the lovers conceived. Some say it was enough to start a small mercenary band of their own, but who really knows but the family and their closest friends?
  • As with all things, time takes a toll and Aliyah was only a half-elf. Her time in the world was much more limited than Lumaris' and she lived each day to the fullest. Eventually, Lumaris petitioned the Seldarine to extend her life and shorten his own. Was it ever granted? No one knows for sure, but if there is one thing the people know, it is that they are still deeply in love and their journeys together have never truly ended.
  • When describing the love of her life, she would simply smirk and state, "I couldn't live without him even if I tried, and believe me, I have tried...but one simply cannot live without the world."
