Take a large carafe. Chop up about half an apple into 1/4-1/2 inch pieces. Add a handful each of blackberries and raspberries. Add 1/4 cup or so of diced pineapple. Consider stone fruit like peaches or nectarines. Add about 1/2 cup of brandy (Presidente or Napoleon are our choices) and about a cup of various fruit juices. Any juice is fine, but if the ones you use are sweet, squeeze in the juice of a lime. Add a bottle of wine. We usually use a dry red but if going with peaches or nectarines, a white would be better. Sparkling is also always good. It's all good. Chill. Put in a good move. Pour. And don't plan on getting off your couch for the rest of the evening.
And an alternative:
One bottle Schloss Voldrad (or another dry German Riesling). One can of dry cider. One shot grapefruit juice. Three shots tangerine juice. Two shots cassis liqueur. Three shots brandy. Not exactly a sangria, but a very lovely wine cocktail.
