Mix 1 cup salted butter and 1 cup sugar in a stand mixer or with a blender.
Add 3 cups quick (minute) oats.
Meanwhile, 3/4 cup AP or gluten free flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves, and 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Add this to the butter/sugar/oat mixture.
Mix until just combined. Add 3/4 cup dried fruit (my favorite is cherries) and 3/4 cup mini chocolate chips. Mix until combined.
Optional: Add the zest of one lime and a couple of squeezes of lime juice.
Form into 1 inch balls and place 1.5 inches apart on a cookie sheet lined with foil or parchment. Bake 350 F. for 12-15 minutes.
