John 14:6
Jesus is Truth
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Truth is not how I want it to be or should be...Truth is not the good feeling in me...And Truth is not what my friends or acquaintances want Truth to be...Truth is the Present Moment of Reality...Therefore, Truth represents Reality...Truth is a Person...
There are those who do not believe in the Truth and do things their way...This is the highway to corruption and hell...The evil one wants us to take this highway...The evil one is a murderer and has been from the beginning, not holding to the Truth, for there is no Truth in him...When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies...Lies lead us away from the Truth...The evil one is a liar, a murderer, and the father of lies...He is also called the adversary, the evil one, and the tempter...He believes in lying and stretching the Truth, and misrepresenting it, so that we do not believe the Truth and will want to search for our own personal truth...
St. Paul tells us this about Truth...When you hear and read about Jesus were taught by Him in accordance in Him with the Truth that is in Jesus...We are taught, with regard to our former way of life (before we knew Jesus), to put off your old ways, which are being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the Truthful Attitude of our minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in True Righteousness and Holiness...
But there is only One Truth...It is the Absolute Truth, and it is Divine Truth...One day Jesus stood up and said He said He is Truth, as well as the Way and the Life...So Truth is a Person, if it is fair to call Him a Person...No One gets to God except through Jesus...So as He was telling us that He is Absolute Divine Truth...And He quickly associates His Truth, His Ways, and His Life with getting and being with God...He is the Way to Heaven, the Way to God...Jesus is the Son of God...So followers of Jesus see how very important in life that Truth, Divine Truth is...
Divine Truth shows us for who we really are...Sometimes we lose this fact about Truth, because we are sometimes not aware of the Truth and the Power of Truth...We can be busy, or maybe we do not believe in Truth, or maybe we are convinced we can find the Truth ourselves...We just think we do not have time for the Truth or to seek it...Maybe we think we know the Truth...Maybe we are around people who do not speak the Truth, but they speak many falsehoods and we lose site of the Truth...Maybe we would have to change our lifestyle to follow the Truth...
But let us know this like the Psalmist said, the sum of God's Word is Truth, and every one of your Righteous Rules endures forever...The Psalmist is echoed by Jesus when He tells us that God's Word is Truth...And we are told some people do not like to hear the Truth...St. Paul said to the Galatians that they may hate him for telling them the Truth...He is saying that the truth can be painful, and that it is not always what people want to hear...But he is also saying that the Truth is essential for our salvation...
If we do not have this essential foundation of Divine Truth in our lives, and the people in our communities, and our country and do not have this Divine Truth then we are going down the wide path of destruction, this highway to hell and will be following the prince of all falsehoods, the father of all lies...
Let us not let kindness and Truth leave us; bind kindness and Truth around our necks, write these on the tablet of our heart...Then you will find favor and high regard in the sight of God and man...Therefore each of us must put off all falsehoods and speak Truthfully to our neighbors, for we are all members of one body...Do not lie to one another, and seeing that you have put off our old ways before Jesus with our old practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the Image of God...Binding kindness and Truth are very important in each of our lives...Being kind and following Truth, helps us follow the Two Great Commandments of loving God and loving neighbor...
Jesus came to earth to testify to the Truth...When He was on trial He said, "For this purpose I was born and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the Truth...Everyone who is of the Truth listens to My Voice."...Jesus is the Truth...He embodies all that is True and Good in the universe and His Creation...He came to earth to teach us the Truth about God, the Truth about ourselves, and the Truth about the world around us...He also came to show us how to live the True Way of Life...Jesus testified to the Truth in all of His words and actions...He spoke the Truth even when it was unpopular or dangerous, and didn't want to be heard...He healed the sick, raised the dead, and cast out demons...He shows us the LOVE of God and the power of forgiveness...He shows us Mercy...Jesus came to earth to set us free from the bondage of sin and death...He testified to the Truth so that we could believe in Him and have Eternal Life with Him and His Father...
He taught about the One True God, the Creator of all things...He taught that salvation comes by grace through faith, not by works of the Law...He taught that we should love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us...He showed us the importance of compassion, forgiveness, and humility...He gives us the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth...He died on the cross to pay for our sins and rose from the dead to give us new life...He died teaching us these Truths...
Jesus' testimony to the Truth is still relevant today...We live in a world that is full of lies and deception...It is important to be able to discern the Truth and to be willing to accept it, even when it is difficult...
When we follow Jesus, His Truths will set us free...Then we will know the Truth, and the Truth will set us free...So we can believe that the Truth is not just a collection of facts and figures and data...It is a liberating force that can set us free from the bondage of sin, ignorance, and oppression...If we are seeking freedom, let us seek and find the Truth...Finding the Truth is the key to unlocking our full potential and living a fulfilling and abundant life...
