John 14:1-4
God's House
1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”
There is no more comforting thought than the thought of home...When we are tired from work, or have been away from home for awhile, we want to return and get to that place we love, called home...There probably is no place we would rather be than our home...There probably is not many thoughts and feelings better than arriving home after being gone awhile...
God has a home...His Son tells us about His Father's house...He tells us that, after His resurrection, He would go to His Father's home and prepare a place for us...And later, when it is the right time, He will come back and take us with Him...Now, if we think that our home on earth, is a great comfort, how much better is it, knowing the Son is in His Father's house preparing things for us...Imagine a beautiful home in paradise, where the Father and Son both live...How beautiful a thought...
Two thousand years ago, He left for this house, His Father's house...Jesus does not teach about the temporary, He constantly reminds us about the treasures and comforts are not in this world, but in the kingdom of God...It is not in our houses in this world, that will bring us His peace, but it is in His Father's house...In our Father's house, there will be this eternal happiness and peace like no other...In His Father's Home, is where He is now...It is there we will meet Him, if we believe in Him and the One who sent Him...Life, eternal life will never be better than there -in our Father's house...I think God's House would be a Perfect House...
