Creative Technology Lead is responsible for building and leading the team that serves as the technical bridge between HOTD's game development environments and the Creative Services department. This role exists to pioneer the strategy, tools, and workflows required to produce best-in-class marketing assets directly from the game engine. By establishing this new capability, the manager ensures that Heart of the Dawn's marketing is authentic, visually stunning, and created with maximum efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the long-term vision for the marketing creative technology pipeline, ensuring it supports the strategic goals of RED.
Lead, manage, and mentor a team of Creative Technologists, providing guidance, feedback, and career development to foster a culture of high performance and innovation.
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of a robust pipeline for creating in-engine assets, upholding and enforcing world-class quality standards for all deliverables.
Serve as the primary strategic liaison between game development, Creative Operations, and Production Management, partnering with Production Managers during program initiation to provide technical consultation on scope and resource needs.
Stay current with emerging trends in real-time rendering and virtual production, championing and testing new tools and methodologies to continually advance the team’s capabilities.
Collaborate with the Manager, Creative Operations, to ensure the team’s tools are supported and integrated, and that resource forecasting remains accurate.
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in a technical role within game development, VFX, or the creative agency space (e.g., Technical Art, Pipeline TD, Creative Technology).
3+ years of direct people management or team lead experience in a technical or creative environment, with a proven track record of mentoring and developing talent.
A genuine passion for games and a deep understanding of the gaming and/or entertainment industry.
Proven ability to effectively collaborate across teams to deliver successful marketing and promotional campaigns.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance, motivate teams, and foster a collaborative culture.
Expert-level understanding of a modern game engine (Unreal Engine preferred), including Sequencer, Movie Render Queue, and asset management workflows.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute technical strategy, translating high-level business goals into measurable outcomes.
Effective communication skills to act as a strategic bridge between teams and ensure technical requirements and creative ambitions are aligned.
Strong problem-solving abilities to proactively address strategic challenges and unblock technical and creative pathways.
