I began writing fiction in 2006 and published a novel about Jack the Ripper, and the two subsequent novels to form a trilogy.
I’ve been an army reservist, worked for MI5, and as a policeman worked in royalty mobile and close protection, tasked with the safety of senior members of the British royal family, including Her Majesty the Queen in the UK and abroad. I also spent seven years as a police advanced car and motorcycle instructor - a dream job for a ‘petrolhead’. In 2000 and 2001 I rode a motorcycle in the International Police Road Rally in Liège, Belgium and I’m a member of the Goodwood Road Racing Club.
I write fiction about matters I have a historical or professional knowledge of, hence book one, one of my historical interests, book two a novel featuring the trials and dilemmas of close protection, book three about a matter of history, motorsport, conspiracy and matters again of close protection.
In 2022 I published my first non-fiction ‘Motorsport’s Military Heroes’, which combines my passion for historic motorsport and military history. When not writing I now work as a First World War battlefield guide, and a security advisor in matters of personal close protection.
