This half-day class is a perfect introduction for learning how to create fur in pastel pencils. This class will be focusing on how pastels can be layered to achieve a realistic result that you can use in your own drawings. We will begin with an underpainting and then use different tones and colours to build depth and textures. You will be shown how to properly draw fur with Emily's technique that she uses to create her own wildlife and pet portrait drawings.
Emily will go through your materials and those which she most recommends and why, how to begin any drawing with effective transferring techniques, how to build up form by using tone and create the texture of fur. This class is a brilliant introduction for those who haven't tried pastels before or those who would like to properly learn how to create fur for mammals.
You can rent the materials needs from Emily, or, you can use the materials list below to order your own and bring them to the workshop.
