Notes in the First Position

Notes in the First Position

Whether you read music or not, every guitar player needs to know the notes on the instrument. You’ve got to know where a C is and where an Ab is. Much of guitar playing is going to be done in the first, or open, position so that’s a great place to start.

This lesson covers…

• Positions on Guitar

• Notes in the First Position

• Sharps and Flats

• Practice Tips

Practice playing the notes while saying them, ascending and descending. This will help you remember them.

Have a great lesson. - Steve Krenz

Steve plays a Vintage Sunburst J-45 Standard in this lesson.
