Similarly to other tasks, the teacher view on GMA allows you to view your students’ work on the Canvas task.
However, as Canvas is an open-ended task, you can only see your students’ work and their completion status; correctness feedback will not be included in the teacher view. You must manually check student work to evaluate if the students’ work is correct or not.
Open the Canvas task you want to view your students’ work for. Upon opening, you will see task cards representing each student’s work on the Canvas, and their answer to the reflection prompt (if applicable).
Because you can only see students’ completion status, and not correctness, for Canvas tasks, for each task card, you will only see one of three symbols:
means students completed the task
means in-progress, such that students are currently working on the task
means students have not yet attempted the task
You can also click on a specific task card to expand the view and see an individual student’s work on Canvas in detail.
To see the steps your student took to reach their current answer, hover your mouse over any mathematical item. A grey circle will appear. By clicking and dragging the circle down, you will reveal the student’s steps/actions on the Canvas task.
You can observe how many steps a student took to reach their answers, as well as view potential errors and places where students may need extra support or instructions.
