While having your Canvas open, open your file folder containing the image/gif you’d like to insert. You can add images/gifs onto your Canvas task as easily as dragging it onto the page.
When you see your image/gif displayed on your Canvas, that means it is successfully uploaded.
Once your file has been uploaded, you can arrange or resize it to fit your needs. You can also place text, math equations, graphs, etc. next to the image for description or instruction.
At the time being, GMA only allows YouTube videos to be published onto the Canvas. Videos that are not publicly available on YouTube can still be posted on the Canvas page. We strongly encourage teachers to create their own videos to best tailor the needs of their students.
Please feel free to visit our YouTube channel Graspable Stache for plenty of videos and resources on GMA content, instructions, and gestures!
To insert a video onto the Canvas, locate the “Insert” button on the top-right of the canvas, then select “Youtube Video” in the dropdown menu.
The “Youtube Video ID” window will appear.
To link your video, you will need to copy the URL for your video (see figure below) into the first text box, underneath “Youtube Video ID”. If you would like to specify a custom range for the starting and ending point of the video clip, type them into the boxes located to the right of “time range”. If unspecified, the entire video clip will be added.
To obtain your YouTube video’s link, click the “share” button in the bottom right corner. Then click “copy” on the right side of the link.
Here is an example of how to fill out the “Youtube Video ID Window”.
Click “Load” to complete add the video to the page. Here is the complete result.
