Creating a Session
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1:
To create a session, you will need a completed activity that you want to assign to your student ready in your “My Activities” tab.
Locate the desired activity and click on the green “Make Session” button next to it.
Step 2:
A pop-up screen will appear, showing the details of the session that will be created. You can change the name of the session here, as well as choose how you want to create your session.
You can either create a session in assessment mode, which GMA does not show correctness feedback for Multiple Choice and Hot Spot tasks. After students press the “Turn in All” button, they will not be able to change their work
You can also create a session and assign it to a specific class. The session will then be created and directly assigned to your classroom, so you won’t have to share a code with your entire class. To learn how to do this, please go to this section.
To see more of the difference between each sharing mode, you can hover your cursor on the (?) sign next to it.
Step 3:
To simply create a session, select the Assessment mode and click “Create Session”. A new webpage will appear with your session created.
The code on the top left is your session code. You can share this code with whoever you want, and they can access your session by logging into GMA as students and entering your session code.
The link on the top left has your session code embedded, and will directly take anyone with this to your activity. You can send this instead of the code for simple access to your session.
As your students access and complete work in your session, their name will appear in the left column and their work for each task will appear within the individual task card.
