Troop Unitization

Troop Unitization:

Unit stats vary among the different types so always make sure you check the stats of an opponent's defense or attack units if you don’t know the stats off the top of your head. There are more powerful units such as traveling knights, kings guard, or horrors, but for all intensive purposes, many players will stock veteran units.

Troops are half of the physical makeup of your defenses or attacks. For defending, it is best to match up troops with their offensive counterparts and for attacking, you want your units to hit their opposites. The match ups go like this.

Defense

Range Vs Range

Melee Vs Melee

Offense

Melee Vs Range

Range Vs Melee

When attacking a flank, your melee troops will hit their range first, then your range will hit their melee. So send small groups of melee troops within range mixes for better results.

When supporting alliance members, only send defense units. Offensive soldiers are never useful in a defense and will end up being killed, it is better to send them off in the event of an attack so that you have a force to retaliate with. While troops alone won’t win a battle, the more you have, the better chance you have of winning, whether attacking or defending.

On a side note, there are also units considered to be a jack of all trades style. Their stats are decent in all categories but they’re the best at none. An example being the swordsman.
