Tools ~ Defensively

Defensively - Your goal is to find what tools your opponent sent, and focus on increasing your tool bonuses that the enemy didn’t account for. For example, if your enemy sent all ladders and moat tools with mixed troops, load up your flanks with range tools and all range defense for an easy victory because the enemy has no tools to reduce your bonus. If your enemy sent all mantlets, stock your walls with primarily wall tools and a mix of melee and range (70M/30R) along with moat tools.

If it appears that an enemy has tools to cover all bonuses, try to reason out how they broke up the tools amongst their flanks. Typically, if there are many mantlets, they will be leading the charge along with some wall tools. More wall and moat tools will usually come in following flanks. You can also bait enemies into sending poor tool set ups or no tools at all by stripping your walls while you’re online and putting all your tools back up before you leave. If you do bait the enemy, always make sure you remember to put your tools back up before leaving.

For power, tools come in three varieties. Resource, Ruby, and Armorer. There are also event tools that are very powerful but these tools will be counted amongst armorer level.

Armorer tools work best against resource and ruby tools, can compete with armorer and event tools.

At the armor and event level of tools, the tools are so powerful that the best they can do against one another is cancel out bonuses, they offer slim advantages against one another unless the enemy sent them in poor ratios or a weak attack.

The tools work much like a food chain, with resource at the bottom, ruby in the middle, and armorer / event at the top. Do not try to outdo the tier listing as players with access to the armorer tools will often crush even the best of resource attacks.
