Getting 3k Aqua Points

Overview

In this section of the site it will outline how to successfully navigate through the storm event and easily get 3K aqua points - without capturing a single Aqua Island!

The Storm Islands is a great way of helping your alliance to grow and buy upgrades - as it delivers serious amounts of rubies to the alliance funds - and it's very easy to do! At least when you know how.... If everyone in a full sized alliance got 3k aqua points then the alliance would finish with a very respectable 195,000 Aqua points total, giving you plenty of alliance and personal rewards.

The base you get by default when entering the event has a number of buildings and resources in it, which allows you to set off to a good start.

Slash and Build

There are, however, a few buildings that are redundant - so you may as well start by getting rid of them. They are:

  • 1 Dwelling - Detracts from public order - and doesn't really give much tax income
  • 1 Defence Workshop - Attacks on your base in the Storm Islands doesn't really happen - and defensive tools can be brought across from other castles.
  • 1 Stonemason - Gives +10% of an already low stone production. Not worth keeping - the space it takes up should be used for boats instead.
  • 1 Sawmill - Same as Stonemason
  • 3 Woodcutters - They produce very little resources, if you are going for a good score in storm you are likely to be able to hit storm forts for res as/when you need it.
  • 3 Stone Quarries - Same as Woodcutter

Once you have demolished the above buildings - or if you need to be away from the game for some time - I highly recommend you upgrade the following buildings:

  • Keep - to increase building speed - ideally to level 3
  • Siege Workshop - to be able to produce mantlets - ideally to level 2
  • Store - Ideally to level 5
  • Farmhouse - Build a new one and upgrade to lv4 for Quest
  • Market Stall - Build this decoration for Quest as well - Best fit/PO when rearranging your castle for optimal boat building.

Together, these buildings are all you need in your base. You CAN go on to build a lv1 bakery if you want to - but it is not a necessity.

Start Looting

While some of the building work takes place - it's time to go plundering for resources and aqua.

By default you get 500 food per hour in the base - allowing you to keep 125 veterans/KGs in the base without using food - but ideally you'll need 150-200 soldiers there. This is not a problem, as you start with 50K food in store, and in fact can bring in more soldiers if you want to.

First, to get a boat built for the "Island of Adventure" quest, we need to get 150 Aqua. To get this, locate a Storm Fort level 40, which we will attack as follows:

Wave 1+2: Left + Right flank - 1 Soldier (tool cleaning)

Wave 3: Left + Right flank - 100% Ranged - 20 Mantlets

Wave 4: Left + Right flank - Any ranged soldiers to help with courtyard battle and loot - No Tools

The attacking setup above should allow you to get on with building your first boat - getting your first 50 cargo points.

Also, you'll get wood, stone and food from the Storm Islands - and once you have plundered a total of 1.000 aqua from them - you get another 1.000 aqua and 10 rubies bonus from the "Exotic Jewellery" Quest.

It doesn't get any easier than that!

Plundering Wood and Stone

In order to get anywhere with your base, securing the wood and stone needed for upgrades and expanding your footprint to max., you'll need more wood and stone than what you can reasonably get from the Storm Forts.

Time to go plundering wood and stone resource islands (RIs). The easiest RIs to take are the 4-hour islands, which will give you 20.000 wood or stone. It doesn't matter whether your store can hold the amount of wood/stone you plunder - when it's from an RI you'll get all your loot regardless - but obviously production is going to stop, as your store is overfilled.

The setup for plundering a 4hr RI is as follows:

Wave 1-3: All flanks - 1 soldier (Tool clearance)

Wave 4: All flanks - 50 Ranged Soldiers - 10 Ladders + 20 Mantlets

This setup will win you the island with a loss of around 20 soldiers, using a 90% ranged commander.

This setup will win you the island with a loss of around 20 soldiers, using a 90% ranged commander.

In order to get a full footprint - you'll need to successfully occupy 15 wood and 15 stone 4hr RIs. If you have a level 2 boat in your base, this will give you 7,500 aqua and 300 rubies bonus from the quests alone. With this you can build 25 lv1 boats and 6 lv2 boats for a total of 1,800 cargo points - and you get more aqua bonuses when expanding your footprint.
