The Marauders Camp

Overview

The Marauder's Camp is a 3 day long event which appears outside your main castle in the great kingdom. The event involves donating resources to the camp in return for rewars in tools and troops. You can donate wood, stone and food to the event.

Tools and Troops

The troops are the main part of the rewards for the marauder's camp, there are two types of troops available in the competition, marauders and pyromaniacs, there are also veteran versions of both of these for the top 100 and 1st place positions, they are both effectively better versions of the basic troop types. The marauders are excellent at looting, they have a loot capacity that is only beaten by renegade sail rippers, swashbucklers and veteran marauders, they can be thrown onto hits to boost the capacity hugely. Pyromaniacs are exactly what their name describes, they are great at setting fire to buildings in enemy player's castles, they are very worthwhile to have when players are using fire casts and you're putting a fire commander together to combat that, pyromaniacs added onto the hit will hugely increase the number and size of fires you create in the enemy castle.

The tools you get from the maruaders camp are useful for boosting loot capacity, you don't get that many of them, but they do make a difference if you've run out of marauders to loot with. Loot sacks are as slow as mantlets, so if you're not already using mantlets, they are often not worth using as they don't increase the capacity by a huge amount, and they slow your army down by a lot. Loot Carts however, travel at normal attack troop speed, meaning they won't slow you down; and they give a higher boost to your loot capacity.

Playing the event

The first thing I would say about the marauders camp is that you should only donate resources that you have spare or that you will get back immediately after getting troops from the event due to the loot you will be able to produce from the marauders, etc.

I would also advise that you don't put food towards the event; you get far more points for donating wood and stone, food isn't really worth the amount that you have to donate for a point, you're far better off using the food for a feast and recruiting more attackers to loot wood and stone with.

When going for the top X position, it is advisable to go slightly above the amounts required for the milestone points where you get basic marauders and pyromaniacs, as people often stop at these points, even if you just go one or two points over, it may be the difference if the top X border is close to that milestone.
