Description:
The term "Hagbeadi" refers to both the Hagbeadi as a species and the Hagbeadi as a nation-state. With origins controversially pinpointed to an unknown location outside the galaxy, Hagbeadi parties in large quantity are fairly rare, and have not been known to be able to traverse past the Divide, although raiding parties have been reported as far north as Milnilchlan. Government-wise, the Hagbeadi act as they had evolutionarily, with a small number of massive "kindergarten" bio-factories that mass produce various castes of Hagbeadi units. The following castes appear to be the most common:
Short-statured, disposable units designed for mass assault warfare to outnumber and overwhelm enemies
Large, bulky "heavy assault" units instilled with heavy armor and bio-engineered cannons at the cost of usual Hagbeadi shapeshifting ability, typically deployed to punch through enemy lines
Medium sized units with heightened regenerative ability, used to maintain bio-factories by repairing damage and collecting deceased beings from both Hagbeadi and enemy origin for use as biomass for further production of units
Extremely small "bugs" that use their small sized to go behind enemy lines to listen in on intel and assassinate figures of interest via delivering a hefty sting to the head or neck
Slow moving, four legged units that appear to be used either as pack animals, emergency food, or moral support depending on the situation
Medium to large sized clumps of biomass capable of breaching the gravitational fields of worlds and achieving interstellar travel. These clumps are used to transport units between worlds and found new bio-factories on uncolonized ones.
It is unknown how law is enforced in Hagbeadi territory, due to a lack of reliable sources from non-Hagbeadi peoples. Therefore, it can be assumed that non-Hagbeadi in occupied lands are either killed for biomass, enslaved, or subjugated to media blackout. One can also assume that rare instances of "rogue" Hagbeadi can be used to clue the outside in on the inner working of Hagbeadi society, however, most such rogue units suffer from varying degrees of retrograde amnesia and tend to be uncooperative (with a handful of exceptional exceptions).
The few accounts on Hagbeadi history that do exist claim that the race originated as a colonial species similar to ants and termites, with very little brotherhood between beings of different bio-factories. However, it is said that one day, an unnamed being arrived to their homeworld and united the bio-factories into a singular community with common goals and ideals.
