Description:
Considered to be the capital of the eccentric Blossom faith as well as the territory of the Blossom Church, the Blossoms are a form of Ancient Gergitorian Paganism that views cryptids, material gods, and demigods to simply be "different strains of mortality". The faith was founded to be a fringe Gergitorian equivalent of Jimnism, but never gained much traction until the 3580s, when High Priest Oldergan converted nearly thirty thousand others and led a recolonization effort into the outer two planets of the Midlands system. Rich in untapped resources, the Blossoms were able to set up a large industry in the Midlands, attracting great manpower from spiritually lost settlers looking for purpose. In 3821, High Priest Geheny declared a rejection of both the khaganate and republican models of the Gergosphere, opting for a more traditional theocratic dictatorship similar to Old Gergitory, referred to as 'The Blossom Papacy". Shortly after, the Blossom Papacy invaded and colonized a number of worlds in the southeastern Gergosphere, forcibly converting dissenters in the infamous Jororan System Correctional Camp (JSCC), which dominated Jonora III and IV and practiced a number of inhumane tactics, supposedly including mind control.
The aggressive nature of the Papacy put it in competition with the Nosopotamian Khaganate, resulting in the Blossom-Nosopotamian Wars between 3947 and 4227. Following the Treaty of Urban, the Blossom Church was still allowed to function on the condition that it surrender its lands and pay reparations to the victims of the JSCC. This bankrupted the church, causing it to fall into obscurity until 4679, when Blossom militants under the mutinous August Volograz successfully coerced the colonial government of the Midlands System to cede the original planets of the Papacy, Midlands V and Midlands VI. It is unclear whether the worlds will be reclaimed in the future, due to Kyrnomacek's current focus on the Thresher and Hagbeadi threats.
