Now hear me out, in terms of being a college student, SHEIN isn't a terrible option for clothing, as most of us don't have too much money to spend. But as someone who actually cares about the planet a little bit, this could be extremely bad. Landfills are filled up with the dyes leaking into the ground and thrift stores are filled with items just from SHEIN alone. I'm pretty sure some people just don't even go to thrift stores anymore because of it. There are some people who've been thrifting all their lives, but are now disappointed because there's only things like SHEIN in them. 

In an article by The New York Times called, "The Golden Age of Thrifting is Over," Ms. Koeppe stated that she use to love thrifting, as she would find all kinds of unique things, and wanted to pass down the tradition. She was expecting old fast fashion, but has still been finding those fast fashion items, with tags. 

Thrift stores can easily be overwhelmed with what's happening in the country, which is overconsumption. I mean, most of us have seen a haul while scrolling on Tiktok, but have you ever wondered if the people doing those hauls actually ever wear that stuff? Chances are many of them don't and end up donating at least half of what they buy.

But, I digress. People will do what they want with their clothes, whether it harms something else or not. This could be extremely detrimental in the long run of life on this planet. We'll see how well this goes in about a year or two.
