Balmain Pieces Stolen
Balmain Pieces Stolen
BALMAIN'S TRUCK WAS HIJACKED!
Oliver Rousteing, creative director, claims that a truck carrying the cargo for the new SS24 collection he intends to show at a fashion week has been hijacked. He intended to show these pieces at the Paris Fashion Week happening on September 27. On Instagram, Rousteing posted saying how the delivery driver was hijacked coming from one of the major airports in Paris. It was more than 50 pieces, and they were the final things to be delivered. “So many people worked so hard to make this collection...We are redoing everything but this is so so disrespectful.”-Rousteing
Now he didn't specify which airport it was, probably to not raise concerns about safety. The show will continue on September 27, with or without the pieces. But hopefully, they can remake the most important pieces in time because this happened only a few days ago.
Replies on his post included Donatella Versace giving support to the fellow luxury brand. “Sending you all my love. I know that you and your creativity will be able to overcome this!”-Donatella Versace.
I see so many improvements in security in the future months regarding fashion or just celebrities in general. Because I feel like it should not have been that easy to rob a high-end truck like that. I'm not sure if it was at night or in broad daylight either. But if he tells which airport it was within his circle of people, they're not going to do that airport anymore. I think that could be a good thing, but the people who robbed the truck could be two steps ahead and are planning for that to happen.
I think this will be a turning point in fashion delivery to Paris; this was definitely thousands of dollars stolen by probably like 2 people. I do hope they can recover some of the losses by Paris Fashion Week.
Here's a little Balmain appreciation from their SS 2019 collection because I found this collection really cool. I love holographic/iridescent clothing.
