Biker shorts just seem like a need in today's American society. They're versatile, cute, and can be worn with just about anything. The ones I will be talking about today specifically are the long and tight ones, the ones you usually see when you think of biker shorts.
Personally, I do prefer the longer ones where they almost go down to your knees. Any others just feel like house shorts. They're definitely cute though, especially if worn right. But my heart will always go to the long ones.
With the invention of the material lycra in the 50s, biker shorts were eventually take the shape we know and love today.
According to BlueJayBikes, the biker shorts we know today were first seen on a Dutch track cycling/road bicycle racing team in 1976 called TI-Raleigh, then a brand named Castelli recreated them in a "one-size-fits-all" deal, with them only being in black.
However in the 80s, Castelli introduced their turquoise lycra biker shorts at an event called the Giro d'Italia, a Grand Tour race. They became a huge staple back then and made notable appearances on people like Madonna, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Demi Moore.
