Creative director of the iconic fashion brand Marc Bohan died on September 6th, 2023, aged 97 years old. 

Who is Marc Bohan? Marc Bohan has been the one creating and styling Dior's look for decades. He loved fashion but never cared for the grand couture styles. He felt as if all that wasn't necessary to have good fashion. “I’m not designing to please myself or for a photograph,” he told USA Today for a 1988 profile. “I am designing for a woman who wants to look her best. I have always in mind the reaction of women I know.”- USA Today Interview 1988. 

At 34, he took over the position of future designer Yves Saint Laurent, since he had to join the army. Meant to be a temporary position, Yves Saint Laurent ended up creating a whole new fashion brand that would be one of the most well-known luxury brands, so Bohan got the position permanently. 

He mingled with Hollywood stars, dressing Elizabeth Taylor and her daughter Maria Burton. He also dressed royalty, like the wedding dress for Princess Caroline of Monaco in 1980.
