The Visualization Committee is dedicated to elevating our firm’s visual deliverables to showcase our work at the highest level. By establishing clear standards and exploring innovative graphic techniques, we aim to enhance communication, accelerate approvals, and deliver greater value to our clients.
Our documents circulate widely among developers, investors, lenders, contractors, and design professionals—each document is a reflection of our brand. We will strive to ensure every visual presentation conveys our designs with clarity, professionalism, and pride, while maintaining efficiency and economy.
Tier 0 3D Massing
Standard output included in basic services used to quickly communicate concepts three-dimensionally and serve as a representative tool to solicit feedback on current design progress for further development. This level of visualization requires basic model creation and features minimal realism, and therefore excludes surrounding context, materials/textures, and detailed lighting. View angles are fluid and can be changed in realtime. Representative colors may be shown to further communicate design intent, but output is typically monochromatic and often described as "gray box" or "wire frame". Generative AI may be utilized for prompted rapid ideation of design concepts.
Tier 1 Basic Rendering
Quick-rendered output included in basic services used to accurately communicate designs three-dimensionally for the purpose of obtaining client design approval or as otherwise requested. This level of visualization requires complete model creation and balances speed and cost with medium-level realism. Basic representative context, materials/textures, pre-built stock assets (for landscape/hardscape, furnishings and entourage), and enhanced lighting may be utilized. View angles are fluid and can be changed in realtime. Colors and finishes convey design intent.
Tier 2 Standard Photorealistic Rendering
Presentation-level output used to precisely communicate completed designs for marketing purposes, and are therefore excluded from basic services except as explicitly included. This level of visualization requires detailed model creation and features moderate-to-high realism, and therefore includes specific context, accurate representations of materials/textures via PBR, and specifically detailed lighting scenes with ray tracing. View angles are restricted and any changes require re-rendering. Colors, finishes, fixtures and furnishings match design specifications, including custom creation of digital assets as required.
Additional services (or included in proposal as per client negotiations) – currently done externally, can be part of a possible stretch goal to be able to do in-house at some point if it makes sense. Typical Li-Fang quality
Tier 3 Advanced Photorealistic Rendering
Professional-level output with highest levels of photorealism showcasing designs for high-value marketing purposes. This level of visualization requires substantial preparation time and extensive coordination between ownership and design team. Associated costs are relatively high due to degree of artistic precision and hardware processing demands of rendering and post-processing. View angles are fixed after approval of wireframe view, and any changes require re-rendering.

Tier 4 Specialty Visualizations
While views can be quickly changed in real time for 3D Massing and Basic Rendering, Standard and Advanced Photorealistic Rendering is limited to individual still images unless additional capabilities are required. Scripted Walk/Fly-Throughs, 360° Virtual Tours, and immersive VR environments can be created to exacting specifications. These specialized services require significant lead time.
