Place all clouds in VIEWS, not Sheets. Exception: the entire sheet is revised, a view is removed from a sheet, or the titleblock is edited place the cloud in the sheet.
After drawing a cloud, verify that it is set to the correct revision.
Add the narrative comment to the revision cloud’s comment parameter in the properties panel.
Check Issued after submission
For projects with multiple deliverable packages that will possibly incur revisions, use the following method to organize the packages and their revisions across all disciplines.
Set the deliverable package’s numbering to Alphanumeric. Early design packages can be set to None or Numeric.
Click on Alphanumeric in the Numbering Options menu. Delete the default Alphanumeric numbering (A,B,C..)
Enter the desired Revision numbering as required when a package or revision is to be issued.
This assumes that the Revision Schedule is to do the job of both the distribution schedule and the revision schedule.
This section pertains to Construction Phase Services and dealing with RFIs in Revit. Several RFI#'s are often combined into a single or multiple Revisions that are unknown at the time of RFI.
To accurately track the RFIs we will handle each RFI as if it were a Revision with the following exceptions:
Create a new Revision sequence and edit the Revision Number in the Alphanumeric sequence to be prefixed with RFI#
Name the RFI in the Revision Description "RFI - Description"
Add the RFI# and date to the "Mark" parameter of the Revision Cloud. (RFI#-00.00.00)
Cloud the RFI
Tag the RFI with a Revision Tag "Delta"
If a building designation is required, add it to the "Issued by" parameter of the Revision.
The Comment parameter should contain a grammatically correct sentence containing the related RFI# is relevant. These comments will be used to create the revision narrative.
If/ when we reissue a Revision and merge RFI#'s into a single Revision for submission.
Merge Down any relevant RFI#s included in the revision
Update the "Number options" "Alphanumeric" sequence and replace/ delete ", RFI#" with the new Revision number.
Extract the narrative from comments.
Make sure to "Publish" the model after adding any Revisions
Place an actual Revision Cloud/Tag on a (any) sheet and then copy it to the clipboard. Remove/delete the Revision Cloud/Tag. On the Modify Tab Clipboard panel select the Paste down arrow and then select "Aligned to Selected Views". Select all the sheets that don't have actual sheets and paste it. Revisions added in with this method can not be removed from the placeholder sheet without deleting that placeholder Sheet.
Forum's interpretation of HUD Handbook 4460.1 for HUD 221(d)(4) Projects: Graphics in Amendments and Revisions
In accordance with HUD Handbook 4460.1, Section 2-9 (Pages 2-26 to 2-27), Forum ensures that all Revisions (clouds and deltas) to drawings are clearly noted, dated, and referenced to their specific locations in the documents.
To visually represent these amendments in both digital and physical formats, our practice is as follows:
Historical Revisions: All previous revision deltas and clouds will remain visible but rendered in a light grey tone. This approach maintains a complete record of changes while ensuring that they do not overpower the current information.
Current Revisions: The latest revisions will be highlighted in black, ensuring they stand out clearly against the historical data. This contrast aids in quickly identifying the most recent updates while preserving the history of modifications.
This method adheres to HUD's requirement for clarity and documentation in project revisions, while also providing an intuitive visual representation that supports ongoing project management and review.

Housing Handbook 4460.1 | HUD.gov / U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
This standard was implemented by Jeffrey Chue 8.13.24Sheet by Sheet:
Make all Revisions visible, both clouds and tags (Delta/Triangle). This may require changing the issue checkbox. Be sure to record this information so it can be replaced at some point.
Select all historical Revision clouds and tags (Delta/Triangle) that are the desired Revision and override the graphics to be halftone or light grey.
It is possible that Dynamo may be able to accomplish in an automated way.
