Alpha & Numeric Designations

• Long side of building will be numbered

• Short side of building will be lettered

• The bottom left most portion of the structure is the origin for all designations. Bottom to top, left to right.

• Intermediate grids (X.#) are reserved for secondary structural elements. The (#) intermediate numeric is based upon relative location to nearest integer (or letter).

• All Letters are to be upper case

• Letters not to be used are

  • • The letter “O”

    • The letter “I”

Dimensional Accuracy & Maintenance

• A Coordination view for Grid lines is required. Only Grid lines & the elements they define are to be visible in this view + Dimensions.

• Confirm grid line Dimension by setting Project Units -> Length -> Format -> Units to Decimal inches with Rounding set to Custom and Rounding increment 0.000000000001. This will show any small errors.

• Adjust all grid line dimensions from origin in both X & Y directions, pushing tolerance errors away from origin.

• Dimensions should target to be design to the nearest inch without adjusting design intent. 

• Pin all Grid Lines upon confirming all dimensions

• Create a Design Option > Option Set. Rename the Option Set to “Grid Line Lock”. Add all grid lines to this option after confirmation of dimensions with high precision.
