Parágrafo de contexto: Esse poema foi criado por mim como parte do evento/atividade avaliativa "Poetry Sarau 2: poemas que escrevi", da disciplina "Literaturas de Língua Inglesa: Poesia". Inicialmente pensei em fazer um poema sem rimas, mas insisti a mim mesmo até conseguir fazer um com rimas. É um poema um pouco pessoal, em que busquei dizer a mim mesmo, e para quem fosse me ouvir recitando e/ou fosse ler, que apesar de tudo, meu objetivo é ser livre e ser eu. 

Even though I have some scars

Even though I drown in fear

I aim to the stars

I aim to be free

Even though it is hard to stay

Even though it is hard to be okay

I aim to not decay,

even without a pray

Even though I take a deep breath,

wishing to disappear

I will not kiss death

I will still be here

I aim, and I am...
