Anammalech

Anammelech ( Hebrew : עֲנַמֶּלֶךְ ‘ Anammelekh ) in the Hebrew Bible is portrayed as a Syrian and Mesopotamian deity. They were worshiped by Seraphim in Samaria (an ancient city in the middle of Israel) often together with Adrammelach. The worship of this creature was very brutal and was based on sacrifice of children who were burned. The Bible has a reference to this wicked practice:

And they made their sons and daughters go through the fire, use divination and spells, and sell themselves to do what was evil in Jehovah’s eyes, to provoke him to anger.”

Here there are some problems with the interpretation of this being. As mentioned at the beginning, the Hebrew Bible contains information that it is a deity, but Christian demonology treats Anamelach as a demon, a servant of Satan, who was to capture Cain’s soul.

He sent a vision to Cain that depicted his children working hard in pain, while Abel’s children enjoyed an easy and rich life. The vision ended with a scene where the former became the slaves of the latter. Cain awoke from sleep and attacked Abel, who, seeking mercy, wrapped himself around his brother’s feet.

Anamelech ‘s intervention made him look like a deadly snake in Cain’s eyes. Cain killed his brother, but this was not the end of his anguish, for Anamelech tortured him by showing him the spirit of Abel. Cain ended his life saving people from the tiger attack, as it later turned out it was his family.

Anammelech – appearance

Depending on the interpretation , the demon or deity was in the form of a quail or mule, while his name meant “good king”

Anammelech is a mysterious character, about whom he does not have much information, and in addition he is subject to different interpretations. Excluding a direct translation of the name, it can be said that this character was clearly bad.
