Read-Cycling

Read-cycling is a charity in Hong Kong dedicated to books and book lovers.

They have been working hand-in-hand with like-minded organizations, schools, corporations and individuals in the past 13 years to bring a second life to used books.  Their main mission is to organize cultural events in various formats with an aim to make reading an essential part of everyday life.

"During our Experiential Learning period in the library, we supported the routine work of the organization such as rearranging books, doing promotional shoots, and coordinating book trips for primary and secondary school students. Besides, we also successfully launched a new event called Little Librarian Training with nearly 100 students from 5 schools participating. We were very fortunate to receive great feedback from students and teachers."

Track Book Inventory

With a list of books for the online bookstore, we stocktake each book available in the library and keep the record correct.

Help further classify books into sub categories, such as dividing Modern Literature into Hong Kong Literature, Taiwan Literature and Mainland China Literature.

Promote New Events

Events

Little Librarian Workshops

Primary and secondary schools are invited to participate in the October special program "Librarian Training Day".

In addition to the free book selection, volunteers from the University of Hong Kong will also hold a Book Classification Workshop to introduce book classification and help everyone make bookmarks.

Through this activity, we hope that students can learn more about books from various aspects and understand the meaning of book classification and protection.

From the event we held during the past few weeks, we also learned about the importance of appropriate commucation among different societies.

So we made a quite funny video about how to communicate with parents, students and even your teammates as a new teacher in school.

The experience offered me a great opportunity to see how charity work. "Giving is always more delightful than taking".

It was my first time joining a charity for the book-lover community. It is definitely a memorable experience.
