Child Support
Aberdeen Kai-fong Welfare Association Services Centre
Jockey Club Integrated Service Centre
Our major job at Aberdeen Kai-fong Welfare Association Services Centre includes two parts: 1. providing homework support; and 2. teaching English and Mandarin to students aged 5-10 from the local community.
This was a challenging but really inspirational experience. It provided a great opportunity for us to work as a teacher. By creating theme-based and task-based teaching plans and learning activities, we understood better about what a student-centered and inquiry-based classroom should be and gained more confidence while teaching in a differentiated classroom which even included students with special needs. Besides that, classroom management skills, collaboration and organization skills… are also what we learned from this wonderful experience.
We believe we will take this meaningful and wonderful experience to our future teaching.
