Homework Support
We took the kids out to the community for the fundraising event for AKA.
We had our Experiential Learning at Aberdeen Kai Fong Welfare Association (AKA), and our main job was to provide homework support during weekdays and also English or Mandarin teaching activities in weekends. The precious experiences has brought us much learning. We have:
built a deeper and clearer understanding about how to be and how to nurture the “caring learner” ;
developed the skills to identify and respond to different learning needs and learning styles of the students, and also the strategies to encourage student’s positive behaviors and positive emotions;
gained the opportunities to plan interesting and creative activities to motivate students;
developed the skills to communicate with students, parents, tutors and colleagues, and also the skills to work well in a team.
And we all believe that our EL experience at AKA will enable us to be a passionate and compassionate educator in the future, and it can help us achieve the goal to develop the whole-person development of students and to inspire their potential as well.
