Like most of my flowers recently, I used box pleating for this design instead of normal circle packing because that makes it easier to fill the corners of a square on models with radial symmetry. For this model, it also allowed me to move the centers of all the flaps away from the edges and corners so that all six stamens have uniform thickness and all six petals have uniform layering.
The shaping on this model was really weird and I kind of felt like I was improvising on the petals. The "spines" of the petals on these flowers curve inward while the petals themselves sweep backward from there. Flat paper just doesn't want to do that, so my petals look more grooved and pleated than the real thing, but I'm very happy with the overall appearance.
