Back in 2010, knowing my particular interest in origami flowers, Robert Lang suggested a Cannonball Flower to me as a design subject. I came up with a crease pattern at the time which I was unable to collapse. I decided to give it a try again, but realized the design was flawed. The biggest issue was that two of the six petals were on the corners of the paper, which means they only had pleated layers to spread out on one side, as opposed to the other four petals which had pleated layers to spread out on both sides due to being on the edge of the paper. Also, I went WAY overboard with the number of interior points. I fixed those problems and have come up with a more workable design.
Design date: July, 2014
