Bird of Paradise Flower

I love origami flowers, and my trip to Hawaii was in many ways the original motivation behind this - most of my first flower designs, such as my hibiscus, heliconia, lotus flower, and torch ginger, were inspired by that trip. I find it strange, and can't really explain why, that it took me this long to design a bird of paradise flower. I really like the way it turned out - I only wish I had a brighter orange paper to use. I think the picture looks great by itself but, when side-by-side with the real picture I based my design on, the orange in my model looks a little faded.
