As I continue my never-ending search for new flowers to fold, it becomes harder and harder to find ones that have a unique structure - most flowers vary simply in the number and color of the petals they contain, with the differentiation in petal-shape being slight enough to avoid capturing my interest as a new origami design construction. Sometimes I have to stare at a picture for awhile before inspiration hits, as with this flower - it took a little while before I realized that this seeming "blob" of a flower could provide an interesting challenge in balancing the number of outer six-petal clusters against the number of interior filaments.
